LARGEST ALL-FEMALE PANCHAVADYAM ENSEMBLE

This is to formally certify that SOPANAM SCHOOL OF PANCHAVADYAM, Kandanakam, Malappuram, Kerala successfully organized a historic cultural event titled Largest All-Female Panchavadyam Ensemble. The event featured 74 female performers, ranging in age from 07 to 70 years, who delivered a continuous and simultaneous Panchavadyam performance for a duration of 1 hr and set a new World Record on 8th March 2026, commemorating International Women’s Day at Kandanakam, Malappuram, Kerala, India. This remarkable achievement represents a significant cultural milestone, as it brought together the largest all-female ensemble to perform this traditionally male-dominated temple orchestra art form at such scale, promoting women’s empowerment, inclusivity, and preservation of classical heritage.
